Don’t Fall Victim to These Top Carpet Cleaning Mistakes

Our homes are one of our BIGGEST investments and if well maintained, they will last a lifetime and can even create a legacy!  In this month’s blog post, we will explore the top carpet cleaning mistakes and how to avoid them so you get the BEST performance out of your carpeting.

Mistake #1

Over-Shampooing.  This is a common mistake made by Do-It-Yourselfers.  This one mistake can result in shampoo buildup and residue.  This residue can actually attract dirt, making the carpeting look even dirtier.  Solution:  Contact a professional to get the job done.

Mistake #2

Over wetting carpet.  Another common mistake made by Do-It-Yourselfers.  When a carpet is over-wet, several things can happen including creating a breeding ground for mold and mildew and causing the carpet to shrink and lift from the floor.

Mistake #3

Staining.  In some cases stains can be caused by the furniture when it is returned to the carpeting without a protective layer.

Mistake #4

Furniture damage can occur if the furniture is not removed from the room prior to cleaning and if foam blocks or foil backed cardboard squares are not used to protect the furniture during the final drying stage.

The best way to protect your carpet and get the best results is to contact a professional.  Curious about how we can help you have the best looking carpet?  Give us a call and we will give you a FREE quote.  Call us today:  727-364-5158 or learn more on our website: www.CompleteCareSystems.com

Complete Care Systems Now Offers Hot Water Extraction Carpet Cleaning!

CCS Wednesday 8 10 16 Canva (1)This month was an exciting month for Complete Care Systems as we welcomed a NEW and exciting service to our business.  Effective during the month of August 2016, Complete Care Systems now offers hot water extraction carpet cleaning.

Let’s face it, carpets can take a beating.  Regardless of whether the carpeting is in your home or business, it can come in contact with soils, dirt, stains, dust mites, bacteria, pet dander, grease and the list goes on.

Great news!  Complete Care Systems can power out all the dirt and grime!  AND…we have more than one way to do it!

Our Methods:

Low Moisture Encapsulation Cleaning:

This method of cleaning uses low moisture.  So low that each gallon of diluted detergent can clean about 300 square feet of carpet.  That means, carpet dries quickly!  In just a couple of hours.

This method of cleaning includes a scrubbing step where a rotary machine scrubs the carpet releasing any soils attached to the carpet fiber and deposits it into the encapsulation solution.  The encapsulation solution is comprised of a crystalizing polymer that “encapsulates” the soil.  After the carpet dries, the encapsulated soil can be extracted during the vacuuming process.

Benefits:

  • Fast cleaning rates of 2,000 to 3,000 square feet per hour can be accomplished
  • Carpet dries quickly
  • Wicking and recurring stains can be eliminated
  • Carpets stay cleaner over a longer period of time
  • Extends the life of the carpet
  • There is no sticky detergent residue that can attract soil is left behind
  • The encapsulation polymer detergent resists soil
  • Environmentally friendly

Hot Water Extraction Cleaning:
CCS Wednesday 8 17 16This method has the ability to flush a large amount of water through the carpet, making it a very effective way to rinse carpeting.

This type of carpet cleaning injects water through the carpeting using spray jets.  Immediately following the spray process, the water is effectively removed through vacuuming.  To make the process even more effective, a powerful spray detergent is applied first.  Add in some agitation and you have powerful cleansing system.  After the carpeting as been cleaned with detergent, the carpet is then rinsed by using hot water extraction.

Benefits:

  • The large volume of water used in hot water extraction makes it possible to remove a large amount of soil
  • Provides a deeper cleaning due to the water injection process it uses
  • The power of the water injection effectively removes debris, odor, soil and germs

In some instances it is suggested that carpet cleanings should alternate between hot water extraction and encapsulation carpet cleaning.  This type of protocol provides the most thorough cleaning process.  The encapsulation cleaning process removed the sticky detergent residue left behind by the hot water extraction process.

Wonderful WOOL!

Why is wool such a popular carpeting choice?  It is because of the many benefits wool carpeting provides!

Discover the benefits…

WOOL IS AN ALL NATURAL, ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FLOORING OPTION

CCS Wednesday 6 8 16Wool is an all natural option for carpeting and is perfect for those who are interested in surrounding themselves with environmentally friendly materials.

A DURABLE OPTION

Do you have a busy household or are you looking for a carpeting solution that will really last?  Great news!  Wool carpeting can be that option for you!  It holds up well to everyday wear and tear and it even resists dirt!

MOISTURE RESISTANT

Wool has natural wicking properties.  It pulls moisture away from the surface it is placed upon.  Many people will use wool rugs to help protect surfaces like hardwood floors.

If you are going to make the investment and purchase wool carpeting, it is important to understand how to care for it.  There are some things you should be aware of when it comes to wool:

  • Wool is not stain resistant.  Beware of spills like juices, wine, and coffee
  • Chemicals are not wool’s friend!  Keep household cleaners far away
  • Wool can be susceptible to fiber distortion, especially when heat is present

CLEANING WOOL CARPETING:

CCS Wednesday 6 22 16 CanvaWool carpeting should be vacuumed once a week with the vacuum setting set on high so the beater brush isn’t too aggressive on the carpeting.  Wool carpeting should be deep cleaned by a professional at least once a year.  Complete Care Systems is expertly trained in cleaning wool carpeting.  Our low moisture, no heat technology makes it the perfect solution for cleaning wool.  Our process never over-soaks the fibers.  Over soaking the fibers could damage the carpet and leave an odor behind.  Since we do not use a heat system,  our cleaning technology will not promote fiber distortion.

Wool carpeting is an investment.  Take care of it with the right tools and procedures to keep it looking it’s best for years to come.

Tips and Tricks: Carpet Fibers

As home owners we always want to find the things to make our house look good, but are always easy to clean. This includes our carpets. We are constantly asked by friends and neighbors during home renovations what the easiest ones to clean are. This opened up a great door to write a blog for everyone to see the top four types of carpet that we recommend for easy cleaning.

1. Polyester Carpets. These carpets are the best because they are able to hold bright, dramatic colors over long periods of time. They are non-allergenic and the material is made from recycles plastic bottles. This allows them to be eco-friendly as well as efficient for cleaning purposes. The only downside to them being made from recycled plastic is that the fibers can be flatted over time from a lot of weight. This makes it bad for high traffic areas.

2. Polypropylene Carpets. Polypropylene is extremely durable and very soft. It is resistant to stains, mildew, and shedding. Because the fibers are so resilient, they allow the carpets to be easily cleaned by any home owner.

3. Wool Carpets. The softest carpet fiber you can find, it is natural, luxurious, and long lasting. The downfall is that the low grade wool is more susceptible to stains while the high grade wool is very very expensive. Most manufacturers will combine wool with synthetic fibers so you can get the softness of the wool with the easy cleaning fibers that you want.

4. Cut Carpet Piles. This method of carpet piles tends to look very nice and is very easy to clean; probably more easy than any of the above. The only downfall is that the ridged nature make it easier to see foot marks and vacuum marks. It is also easier to see wear and tear so home owners usually have to replace this type of carpeting more often.

No matter what type of carpets you choose, Complete Care Systems can clean them and make them look great! Call today for an estimate 727.364.5158 or visit our website at http://www.completecaresystems.com
