Carpet Cleaning in Trinity, Florida

Our favorite carpet maintenance tips revealed!

Many times we are asked what homeowners can do to help keep their carpets in the best shape possible in between professional cleanings.  We are going to share with you some of our most favorite tips to help you maintain clean carpets in between professional cleanings.

TIP #1:  Use Transition Rugs

Utilize throw rugs when tile and wood flooring transitions into carpeting.  Any loose dirt, debris and soils will collect in the transition rug before hitting the carpeting of our home.  Transition rugs are especially helpful in entryways, high traffic areas and doors used by family pets.

TIP #2:  Re-apply Carpet Protectors On A Regular Basis

Carpeting is a big investment.  Protect your investment by taking precautionary measures like applying carpet protector.  Spills and stains will not be able to settle easily when a barrier is in place.

TIP #3:  Remove Shoes

Most of the dirt that comes in your home enters through the front door on shoes.  Be proactive when it comes to your carpeting.  Insist on people removing shoes at the front door to help minimize soils and debris getting embedded into your carpeting.

TIP #4:  Fall In Love With Your Vacuum!

Does your home get a lot of foot traffic from kids and pets?  If you answered “Yes!”, consider upping your vacuum game.  High foot traffic homes should vacuum their carpets 2-3 times a week.  Your carpeting will see the most damage from sand and small pebbles being ground into carpet fibers.

TIP #5:  Schedule Routine Deep Cleaning Appointments

Depending on the foot traffic in your home, you should have your carpeting professionally cleaned every 6 to 12 months in order to keep your carpeting looking its best and ensure a long lasting life.

Top Indicators It’s Time to Get Your Carpet Cleaned

You know it’s time to get your carpets cleaned when you experience these telltale signs.  Basically, these signs are your carpets speaking to you directly about their cleanliness!

Top 7 Indicators It’s Time For A Deep Clean:

  1. AAAAHHHH-CHOOO! tends to be a common theme in your house lately.  Your family and guests are sneezing more and more when they are in your house.  Why?  Your carpet is trapping allergens!  Professional strength cleaning will help to power out allergens and irritants
  2. You are playing the game “What’s That Smell?” more often than you would like to.  Dirty carpeting can hold on to odors.  When that happens, it is hard to get rid of the odors.  A professional carpet cleaning can help to refresh and deodorize your home.
  3. Your carpeting has more traffic patterns than the Veteran’s Expressway.  There seems to be a dark trail of foot traffic meandering through your home.  This means dirt and grime is present in your carpet’s fibers.
  4. Stains a plenty!  Do you see more spots and stains than you remember?  Even after you have done almost everything to remove them?  It’s time to call in the professionals to work on what just won’t come out.
  5. What color is that anyway?  Is it getting more an more difficult to recognize your carpet’s original color even after multiple attempts of vacuuming?  Another telltale sign that dirt has invaded carpet fibers. It’s gotten in so deep that standard household machines can no longer to the trick.
  6. Is it time to re-name your carpet Matt?  You know what we’re talking about.  The fibers are no longer long and fluffy, but, short and, well, matted!  Don’t ignore the matted finish.  Call in the professionals before its too late!  The more your fibers stay matted, the more damage is done.
  7. Mold and mildew is present.  It has been a hot and rainy summer so far in Tampa!  These types of conditions are the perfect breeding ground for mold and mildew.  Don’t let that happen to your carpet.  Ask us how we can help prevent damage caused by mold and mildew.

  • Kitchen floors
  • Back splashes
  • Bathrooms, especially around toilets, sinks, showers and bathtubs

Grout is very porous and can easily trap soil, stains, mold and mildew.  Here are some mixtures and solutions you can use to help prevent mold and mildew growth and keep your tile and grout its cleanest.

  • Treat tiled areas with a homemade cleaning paste
  • Combine baking soda and water until it forms a paste
  • Spread onto the grout
  • Allow the mixture to set for several minutes
  • Rinse with clean water and dry with towels

Clean mold and mildew growth with this solution made from household cleaners:

  • You will need a spray bottle
  • Fill half the bottle with hydrogen peroxide
  • Fill the remaining half with water
  • Spray solution onto the stained grout
  • Let solution set for 15 minutes
  • Rinse with water and then dry

Breathe Easier

As you probably already know, your home can be a HUGE trap for allergens!  But, there is a way to help reduce allergens and help you breathe easier.

Carpet

One of the biggest allergen traps and air filters in your home is your carpeting!  Carpeting can harbor irritants like dust mites, mold, mildew and fungi.  There is no need to suffer!  You can begin to breathe easier with proper and regular carpet cleaning.  Put it on your schedule to run the vacuum at the very least, one time per week to get the surface allergens up and out of your home.  For a deeper clean, have your carpeting professionally cleaned every 6 to 12 months.  Both the hot water extraction method and the low moisture encapsulation method are very effective for removing common allergens found in your home.

Upholstery

Your favorite easy chair may not be making it easy for you to breathe!  The upholstery in your furniture can trap allergens and dust mites just as easy as carpeting can.  Be proactive.  Vacuum your upholstered furniture to help remove what is clogging up your breathing.  Consider having your upholstery professionally cleaned for removal of allergens.  Our low moisture encapsulation method might be the best deep cleaning solution for your upholstered furniture and to help you get rid of allergens

Mattresses

Start sleeping better at night.  Mattresses can also harbor dust mites and allergens.  Combat them by having your mattresses deep cleaned and specially treated to protect against dust mites.  Ask our technicians how we treat mattresses to keep the allergens away!

Since the product sits on top of fibers, it will need to be re-applied periodically.  How often you re-apply will determine the amount of traffic and wear and tear your carpeting receives.  For best results, we recommend that Scotchgard be re-applied every 6-12 months.
